Deco. Project: Tsumami Kanzashi

I have an obsession with deco. projects and Japanese culture. This is the result.

Tsumami Kanzashi are traditional hairpins made with a certain “pinching” technique to form the petals of the flowers. They are often worn by geisha or during cultural festivals.

The history is fascinating, and trying to make them in the traditional style is fun – but my tutorial is my own modified version.

I tend to drone on/repeat myself, believe me I know – but there’s some nuggets of good stuff in there.
